Leaving behind friends and family, jobs and schools – it is a tough move. But a few years ago, I did just that. My son and I, who was 16 at the time came over to Cheshire from Northern Ireland and we have settled in this lovely town of Middlewich. My partner had just left the Royal Navy and I was pregnant with my now 3 year old and we decided to put some roots down where we could be close to some water, good pubs and near the airport and train networks.
We decided to rent out a house for about 18 months so that we could really get a feel for the area and so we made the leap. While I was off work I then started doing a blog, I like reading others so thought I would have a go and it has proved quite therapeutic at times, especially when my eldest boy took up boxing and then also when I went back to work and started the crazy search for childcare. Middlewich and its surrounding areas have plenty to offer and I have filled my Tripadvisor with plenty of reviews!
The team at Go Local have let me loose to write a regular article, so if you like a laugh at half hearted attempts at dieting, despite my love of Greggs (the only downside to Middlewich is the lack of this establishment), travel, childcare and my rekindled enjoyment (and I use the word loosely) of running with a fabulous local group then keep a look out for my page in the mag and see what Cheshire has done for this family!
